English Voice Over and Dr.Max Superpowers - Vox Vivat #5

Vox Vivat #5

Flu season is coming, but our sick pace of improving Vivat Slovakia is not slowing down. Go through with us what awaits us and what you will find in the November free update

We were in the Slovak Shark Tank - Jama levova

The Slovak version of Shark Tank recently aired the final episode of its second season on TV Markíza. This is a TV show where entrepreneurs can present their business ideas. Participants stand before five successful entrepreneurs, known as "The Lions" in the Slovak version. These five lions include entrepreneur Milan Dubec, founder of the social network Pokec.sk. Next to him is Juraj Fehervari, the man behind the barefoot shoe brand Be Lenka. In the center sits lioness Táňa Ondrejková, CEO of the travel agency Pelikan.sk, and the final pair are the two Igors: Igor Kolla, head of the telecommunications company ANTIK Telecom, and Igor Rattaj, owner of resorts and ski lifts at Tatra Mountain Resorts.

We—Team Vivat—presented ourselves to these five business lions to seek an investment in our game studio so we can continue creating better projects for you. Our goal is to create video games and gamified projects with a reach beyond Slovakia and the Czech Republic. But we didn’t have enough funds for global marketing, so we chose this highly unconventional approach—to participate in a reality show, attract a powerful investor, and launch Vivat Slovakia to the world. The negotiations are currently underway, so let’s keep our fingers crossed!

English dub in Vivat Slovakia!

English dubbing in Vivat Slovakia /

Vivat Slovakia has included full Slovak voice acting and English subtitles since its Early Access release. Thanks to everyone who bought, promoted, and praised the game, we’ve reached a point where the game’s quality has significantly improved. Now we’ve dared to tackle the huge task of fully translating Vivat Slovakia into English.

The professional English dubbing was done in cooperation with the Prague studio BEEP in the Czech Republic. They handle sound for many film and television projects, and they are one of the few studios here that work on film sound for video games as well. Their portfolio includes titles like Kingdom Come Deliverance, League of Legends, and World of Tanks.

All story lines were recorded directly at BEEP with native English-speaking actors. The actors fully embraced their roles, with many lines taking on a unique touch as a result. DieloTai, who was in charge of the English dubbing with Lukáš, stated that Vivat Slovakia feels like an entirely different game in English—in a good way.

Having a bilingual game, especially in Early Access, is a huge challenge for our small Team Vivat, as all new content will be handled in both languages simultaneously. Rest assured, we won’t neglect Slovak when adding new content that our local players are already familiar with. Likewise, all new content during the Early Access phase up to the full release will include English dubbing, allowing our new English-speaking players to fully enjoy the wild ‘90s open-world experience on the borders of Eastern Europe. Welcome in Bratislava!

Abilities already in the game!

Dr. Max, This is Locco, Team Vivat

Special abilities with vitamins Dr. Max

Since the Early Access release, Vivat Slovakia has included a hidden cheat code, DRMAX, which helps players recover health faster during tough missions. It's no surprise that it’s most commonly used during the last major gunfight of Side-A in the Petržalka den. As we approach the second part of the story, which will be much more action-packed, standard health recovery might not be enough for some players.

In addition to regular pills, we’re adding vitamins to the game to make story progression easier or add to the fun of causing chaos in digital Bratislava. Just visit any of the new Dr. Max pharmacies around the map and pick up one of the vitamins to carry with you at all times.

Dr. Max vitamins - Special abilities

Available LEVEL UP Vitamins:

Ginkgo Biloba – Extreme Focus

Ginkgo Biloba extract will help you focus by slowing down the entire game world around you.

Iron Fruit - Iron Repulsion

This ability cost our programmers the most effort. When chaos erupts around you in digital Bratislava, just activate Iron Fruit and, with the power of iron in organic form, you’ll feel like the Magneto.

Collagen Drink - Flash Reloading

During the most intense shootouts, Collagen Drink will certainly come in handy. Milan will reload so fast that you won’t even notice it, nor will your armed enemies.

Vitamin C - Invulnerability

The well-known immunity booster, Vitamin C, gives you brief immunity to all the threats of the ‘90s. years. We recommend timing this vitamin’s use carefully.

Multivitamin Energy - Turbo Speed-Up

The comprehensive Multivitamin Energy supplement charges you up so much that Milan’s lazy jogging turns into a sprint that rivals the speed of a slow tram. This extra momentum will also allow for longer jumps.

Time Trials

In the latest update, we’ve introduced vehicle tuning. In the ‘90s, it was common to repair or upgrade cars in housing estates or garages. Technical or emissions tests? Don’t kid yourself!

You can now fill your garages with new cars and upgrades through the new Time Trials. These timed races with pre-selected vehicles offer three medals. A bronze medal rewards you with new underglow colors, a silver medal adds a unique vehicle skin to your garage, and a gold medal wins you the very vehicle you raced in. You can switch vehicles at any of your garages on the game map.

There are exactly eight Time Trials in Vivat. Each one was crafted by Mejtus with consideration for unexplored parts of digital Bratislava and interesting routes. Getting a gold medal might seem impossible at first, but our team managed it, and we’re looking forward to seeing you share your times on the community Discord.

Time Trial now in the game!

Garage Tuning, Phase 2

Besides the satisfaction of crushing our gold medal times, you’ll also receive rewards in your garages. Time Trial races unlock progressively, and each offers different underglow colors. But beware, they’re not just single-colored neons. FadedDante went all out with underglow variations so you can go wild with creative color combinations to match any car’s paint.

Wraps or skins for your vehicles are another surprise addition. Every car you can store in your garage is ready for a full wrap of your choice. You’ll unlock these with a silver medal, and besides the expected carbon wrap, you’ll get a full range of crazy visuals. To keep the universe balanced, don’t forget to add Lil Jon Feat. The Eastside Boyz – Get Low to your radio playlist. Lil Jon Feat. The Eastside Boyz - Get Low .

You can now bring cars to Ivan!

Import Export in Ivan's cars

Let’s stick with cars. Do you also think the car prices at Ivan’s Rides are a bit low? With the right connections, anything can be arranged. Besides Milan, Ivan has other customers who want to ride in luxury foreign cars at friendly prices. Ivan has posted a list of car models he needs on the main board at Ivan’s Rides in Petržalka or Ružinov. Don’t worry, no one will ask how you acquired them.

Import/Export operates on the classic exchange basis—find a car and trade it for some Slovak crowns, paid out in cash without an invoice of course. Just make sure the cars are in good condition, so Ivan doesn’t have to worry about repainting after scratching off the VIN numbers.

Quality of life game improvements

With every patch, we’re thrilled to announce not only new features but also improvements to Vivat Slovakia. We’ve fixed many bugs and further optimized the game. Skilerko1355 is tirelessly testing every nook and cranny to flood our programmers with bug reports. Improvements include the road network in Petržalka and bumper car sparks at the Bumper Cars.

The so-called T-poses gradually disappeared from the game, but we can now boast that they have disappeared completely. Also, the correct timing of the credits in the cutscenes works, and the end credits no longer last a quarter of an hour thanks to several columns.

Shooting tires and windshields on cars

After adding the feature to shoot car tires, we’ve now included the option to eliminate a driver sitting in a vehicle. Previously, you could only shake off enemies chasing you or destroy their vehicle. Now, you can defend yourself by directly targeting the driver. But don't forget that with great power comes great responsibility.

Custom navigation point

One of the most requested features, especially on our community Discord, has been the ability to mark any place on the map with a waypoint. Although people in the wild ‘90s only navigated with road maps, we’ve listened to player demand, given the large number of activities displayed on the game map. We hope the custom waypoint system enhances your Vivat Slovakia experience. You can set a custom waypoint by right-clicking anywhere on the map.

The overall quality of the game is increasing!

The bicycle is already parked in front of the apartment in Petržalka

Bike - Yes, we're not kidding

Since the graphical demo, Hrobi 20 bicycles have been parked around the city. Ever wanted to hop on one and ride away? You still can’t, but why would you—it’s not yours. But Milan has his own road bike parked outside his apartment building!

Yes, macicka decided to add the option to ride bikes in Vivat. Now you can cycle through the glades of Bratislava or to scenic spots like Slavín. Just watch out for other vehicles; bike lanes didn’t exist in the ‘90s.

We took both screenshots with the bike in Photo mode, which you can find in the game menu!
